Lifestyle (prior to program):
Moderate exercise several times per week.
Background: BFL has been in my life since its first incarnation over 15 years ago, when I first started my love affair with working out and being fit! Over 3 years, I lost and maintained a weightloss of 80 lbs! This past year, I've been dealing with recurring acute kidney failure and have taken on proving my entire medical team wrong and healing myself. I've quit my job, enlisted the support of my family, taken on reiki, spiritual growth, medical healing in a HUGE way and as a result I've been able to somewhat REVERSE some of my kidney failure and put off being on dialysis. I created being in Stage 5 Kidney Failure to Stable in Stage 4. Although this has been an incredible achievement, as a result of this illness, I've lost ALL energy APPETITE and struggled with day to day chores, including eating. My body rejects protein and due to the insurmountable fatigue, I've given up all thoughs of working out. I've also been quite careless with my nutrition ove the past few months. As a result, I've gained back about 50 lbs in one year. Well, although my energy levels are VERY limited, I'm taking on my body once again. As a transplant (my 2nd one), is a big possibility in the near future, I want to be as healthy as possible for it. Considering the long list of medical considerations ( icluding cardiovascular issues from the kidney failure, severe anemia, etc), I'm doing this. 3 Months ago I struggled with walking up a flight of stairs or even standing long enough in the shower to wash my hair. Today, I'make it to the gym 3 times a week to slowly get back to where I was. This is very unlike where I was a year ago, doing shoulder presses with 25 lbs in each hand, but it's a giant leap forward, and I'm excited! I know feeling great in my body is an integral part of my well being, and I miss that feeling. I'm tired of feeling like a giant noodle with 0 strength. I'm taking this on to my best of abilities with what I have and what I can do. Can't wait to see the results of my work! Taking it week by week. Here I go! My possibilities over the course of the next 4 weeks are: BEING MY WORD and I'm THE PRIORITY!!! HEre I go!
