Gains Weight:
Mostly gained at my waist.
Lifestyle (prior to program):
Couch Potato.
Background: I have pretty much dealt with weight issues every since my early 20's. There has been several times that I've gone on diets and worked out and have lost a lot of weight. My biggest problem was that once I completed the transformations, I would go right back into the same old routine and bad habits as before and would put the weight back on and then some. I guess that after awhile I had just decided that I was just suppose to be big and gave up trying. I developed some physical problems such as a hernia, osteo arthritis in both knees, and sleep apnea. All of which are commonly related to being overweight. Instead of opening my eyes and realizing that I need to do something about it, I used these illnesses as an excuse to not do anything. In August the family and I went on a vacation up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. There was a nice waterpark there, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, golf, and other activities. We had a great time, and for the first time in years I opened my eyes. I didn't go to the waterpark because I was embarrassed by my weight; I couldn't ride a horse, due to the fact I was too heavy; did a little hiking, played some golf. When we got home we downloaded the pics from our trip on the PC and that was a total shock for me. There was my family doing all these activities and I was missing from most of them. When I did see pics of myself I couldn't believe what I saw. My family and a fat man! I couldn't believe how bad I looked. The day after I got home I decided that it was time to make some changes in the the way I eat and look. I went to our bookshelf and dusted off my Body For Life book and started the next day. It has been a long time coming, but I've decided its time to take control of my life, and the next time we go on vacation, I'm going to be a different person, for myself and my family.
Goals: To lose 70 pounds of fat, build muscle, change to a healthier lifestyle, and to be overall satisfied with the way I look.
