I need to get back on the body for life bandwagon. I got off it when I was pregnant with my second baby and now I'm a mess! I feel addicted to fast food and diet coke. I need help bad! Has anyone does body for life while nursing? And if so are there any modifications needed to make sure I am taking in enough for me and the baby? Any other tips?

I've been doing BFL while pregnant and nursing and starting to wean my 1 year old right now.  I think BFL can be great for a nursing mom because you're eating frequently, drinking lots of water, and getting the good stuff from the good food.  I still don't drink a lot of protein powder or supplements because from what I've read, the jury is still out on how that will affect a nursing mom.  So, for me, I just felt safer sticking with whole foods.

I think if your supply is good, things are going good for you and baby.  Oatmeal is a good thing

The hardest thing for me is making time for me and juggling it all with a baby--and in my case, 2 other kiddos.  Preparation is the key!  Make yourself big batches of food and if it can be eaten with one hand, all the better.  I always had a bottle of water nearby, especially when it was nursing time.

Most of all, get some sleep!  How old is your little one?

My baby is four months old and my son is two.

When they are both napping at the same time I feel like I should make some extra food but then I just don't. I end up on the couch the whole time doing nothing productive.

Do you have any tips for easy snacks that are non perishable that I can leave in the diaper bag for my son and me?

Step one...get to they bottom of why "I just don't".  That one statement can crash all of your efforts.  It's the days that you just don't want to that you must take action even more.  It's a whole lot easier to do nothing as opposed to getting healthy.

You are worth it and you'll be a better mom to your kids when you start doing the things that make you feel good about YOU.
