I've been eating some of the same snacks for a while now and I'm getting bored with them and need some suggestions.

My go-to's are cottage cheese and an apple or banana, cottage cheese and chobani, and EAS and various other protein bars. What the heck else is there?!

Today I ate celery and carrots with natural PB... I also like broccoli and hummus. Check out askgeorgie.com for recipes for protein bars that are amazing!! I have tried several and will definitely be buying her Fuel Up! app for Android when it is released.

A snack doesn't have to be snack food. It could be just a smaller version of a regular meal that you like.

Same question...why is it a snack? Are you looking for portable meal ideas that would fit in a little cooler, or are you home during the day?

Either way, how about working some veggies in there?

edamame

Wasa crackers topped with veggies, mustard, all natural turkey/tuna

low carb shake with crackers (Kashi, Triscuit thin crisps, Crunchmasters) or fruit

whole grain wrap with veggies, low fat balsamic & feta cheese/turkey

I usually snack on nuts, mainly almonds, cashews & macadamias & fruit.

That's boring? Try drinking the same exact protein shake 5 times a day for 28 days! Okay, not the exact same. I did add peanut butter to the one before bed and a banana to the one after my workout, but essentially it was the same.

I'm looking for portable and sweet. Not a big savory person, I save my veggies and such for dinner/lunch.

You don't need to and shouldn't "save" your vegetables for 3 meals a day. You should be eating vegetables with every meal you eat. The original BfL book is outdated and the recommendation of adding 2 vegetable servings a day is really not applicable any more. Even when I use Georgie's bar recipes and have that as one of my "meals", I add vegetables or a fruit to that. I am a huge supporter of Precision Nutrition, in part because it is based in current science. It suggests aiming for 12-15 servings of vegetables and fruits a day. I put vegetables first because for most people, it should be a 4-5:1 ratio of veg:fruit but it's not written in stone.

Sweet stuff, though, try making some of the bars and snacks on Georgie's site. She is a brilliant lady and she always amazes me with how good things taste. I find shakes with fruit, protein and coconut milk are awesome. I love apples with natural PB or almond butter.

My biggest suggestion though, is get rid of the EAS and other store bought protein bars. Eat real food. What we know about nutrition these days is that these foods are not our best options and once we start to cut out sugars and fake sugars from our diets, we stop having the same cravings for sweetness. We are surrounded by "super-sweet" foods all day long and our little brains are just doing what they do when these foods call to us. Once we get our brains working better and not responding to these cues and foods in the same way, we stop having the cravings and stop finding these foods as enjoyable as they once were. I am not kidding when I say I find carrots to be incredibly sweet and I ate a protein bar over the holidays and could barely tolerate the intense sweet taste (and I love my sweets!!)
